Canvas

Use the canvas to view, arrange, and work with project content in a more flexible space.

What you can do

The canvas and list read the same project content; the canvas is not a separate file. The list makes it easy to see what has been created. The canvas adds spatial layout, previews, drag-and-drop, and shortcuts.

You can view several items together, understand your work through their arrangement, and bring relevant content into the Agent chat on the right.

Keep creating on the canvas

  1. Select Canvas at the top of the project.
  2. Pan or zoom to find the resource, document, sequence, or edit you want.
  3. Select and preview the content to inspect the current result.
  4. To ask the Agent to continue, add referenceable content to the chat on the right and describe what to change or extend.

For example, find a generated character image on the canvas, add it to chat, and ask the Agent to keep the character's appearance while changing the shot or location. That points the Agent to a specific result instead of relying on a text-only description of which version you mean.

Common shortcuts

Open Canvas Shortcuts in the lower-left corner to see the controls available for your system. Common controls include:

  • Pan: Hold Space and drag with the left mouse button, use the middle mouse button, or pan on a trackpad.
  • Fit canvas: Press Command/Ctrl + 0.
  • Zoom: Press + or -, hold Command/Ctrl while scrolling, or pinch on a trackpad.
  • Undo: Press Command/Ctrl + Z.
  • Redo: Press Command/Ctrl + Shift + Z.
  • Exit the current state: Press Esc to close the create menu or preview, or clear the selection.

If you changed your key bindings under Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts, follow your current settings and the Canvas Shortcuts panel.

Tips

  • Moving an item on the canvas mainly changes its viewing layout.
  • Moving content into a group or sequence changes the project's organization. Check the hierarchy in the List or Navigation Bar.
